We Are Lost in Ortom's Government - Isherev People Cry Out

By Tivta Samuel Ras-Sattuga.

A political unity is attained when there is political balance resulting from balanced political appointments, this is why the Tiv people believed in theory of ''Ya na wan angbian'.

While the the Ugondo and Tyoshin communities in Makurdi have had their fair share of political appointments in the current administration, Isherev are yet to benefit from any political appointment.

Below are the political positions currently occupied by the Ugondu people of Makurdi LGA.

1. Executive Secretary, TSB ( Dr. Uji)

2..general Manager, Benue Links ( Mrs. M. Ugellah)

3. Member, Benue State Polytechnic Board, Ugbokolo ( retd. Col. Ayough).

4.Special Adviser to Gov on Sport and Culture( Prof. Ueve).

5. Educational Secretary, LGEA, Mr. John Apughul

6.Clerk of Legislative House, Mrs. Maureen Iortyer, a wife to an Ugondu son.

7: The position of cashier also is from Ugondo.

From the Tyoshin community of Makurdi LGA, the following political Positions are given to them.

1. Comm. Lands, Survey and Solid Minerals ( Hon. Unenge)
2.DGSA ( Hon. Luke Ahoh).

While the Isherev, who are the major components , with a sizeable population, has no political position apart from the chairmanship position being canvassed for now.

It is in view of the above that we make our passionate appeal to the Executive Governor of Benue state, Governor Samuel Ortom to consider the Isherev people for the Chairmanship position, this will help in giving the people of Isherev a sense of belonging.
