BRISTOW AIRLINES TO COMMENCE FLIGHT OPERATIONS IN BENUE STATE

Indications emerged yesterday that the management of Bristow Airlines, Nigeria Limited may enter into partnership with Benue State Government to commence flight operations in Makurdi,Benue State.
Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Tersoo Kpelai and Babatunde Mayowa of Bristow Airlines made the disclosure shortly after a meeting held at the NAF airport, Makurdi.
According to the Commissioner,the Ortom led administration in its drive and commitment for Industrialization and development of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises has examined critically the transportation challenges faced by local and foreign investors and other businessmen in the state and have decided to fix the meeting with Bristow Airlines to analyze their proposal and possibly discus modalities towards the take off of flight operations in the state.
Mr. Babatunde on his part maintained that, the arrangement is to fly passengers from Makurdi - Abuja - Lagos and Lagos - Abuja - Makurdi noting that the arrangement is flexible since the coverage can be expanded with time and due to demand.
On his part, Commissioner for Works, Transport, Energy and Solid minerals, Engr. Emmanuel Manger stated that both Government and the Bristow Airlines have proposed Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays for the meantime to fly passengers in and out of Makurdi with the hope to expand the services.
Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Tersoo Kpelai, His Works, Transport, Energy and Solid Minerals counterpart, Emmanuel Manger, Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, Hon. Joseph Odaudu, that of Research, monitoring and Evaluation, Alhaji Isa Usman represented Benue State Government in the meeting while Babatunde Mayowa, Efetobere Omene and Benedict Adeyileke represented Bristow Airlines.
Others in attendance included, Dr. Elijah Sase, permanent Secretary, State ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Annune Fidelis, Ag Director, State ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Abubakar m. Rabi, Airport manager, Yohana Jonathan,Airspace, S. O. Jafaro, NAF, Chime I. J, NAF, Tessy Ikeaka, NAF, Comfort Ogbugu, FAAN, Anna Elaigu, FAAN and Regina Omaku, FAAN
