Once saved, forever saved? "ETERNAL SALVATION" IS A HERESY. AVOID IT. The subject of eternal salvation is one topic that is seen by many to be a tricky subject. The word is God is clear about this. Please read to find out what is revealed in the word of God.
I am not going to dwell much on this issue, though a delicate one, however, we need to still talk about it so everyone can become aware of the danger or consequences that are attached to not following the real revealed word of God.
It's no news at all that Christianity has or is fast becoming crumbs or expired piece of bread that amounts to nothing rather than to be trodden under foot. This is as a result of how the "body" of Christ is no longer compacted due to flying errors and heresies directly from the pit of hell.
Godliness is not about our feelings, what we think or what situations bring to us or put us in, godliness is living according to divine injunctions, and laid down principles registered in the very word of God.
"For everything that was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures, we might have hope." Romans 15:4
So back to the base of the discourse.
Once saved, forever saved? It's hell NO! The revealed word of God with the help of the Holy Spirit tells us that there is JUDGMENT. This judgment comes on all those who have once seen the light but prefers darkness now, and all those who do not believe in the only begotten Son Of God.
Now, living with with this notion of eternal salvation leaves us with the following:
1. That there is nothing like judgment on sinners.
2. That there is no backsliding.
3. That the whole Bible has no truth in it. You outrightly deny the power in the name of Jesus.
Let's us try to find out how you empower the above with your beliefs.
1. The Bible tells us that, a man has only one life, and that this life was given to us by God of which He can demand for it anytime, anyway and even anyhow. As recorded in the scripture, "And inasmuch as it is apportioned to men to die once, and after this, judgment,..." so, you only refute the truth of the word of God by saying, one can have his salvation eternally bound. Now, read through to verse 28 of Heb 9.
"So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation."
2. That your salvation is eternally bound, you can no longer backslide. Yes, that's the point! But what does the Bible say? Let's find out.
"But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul." Heb 10:39. Here we have the perfect example of Judas Iscariot. Having followed Christ, he was born again, he believed just as we do today, but he perished!
3. The word, though filled with wonderful promises, but too, it has punishments listed out for those who will err and never realized they have. There is every room for coming back to Jesus. Just like Peter, he sinned by denying Jesus, but quickly realized and got back to the feet of the Master. Being a compassionate savior, He forgave Peter. Jesus was actually waiting for Judas, but he never came back, instead, he went and killed himself, falling headlong, leaving his bowel bursted.
Summarily, here is a question thrown to the preachers of this doctrine by an hard core atheist.
"I was once saved as I used to be a born-again Christian. Do you mean that I remain forever saved, even now that I'm an atheist?"
This question leaves me thinking. And seriously I have no clue on how to answer that. Maybe we can have them answer that for us.
"Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown" Revelation 3:11.
God bless you. Jesus is Lord.
