Gov Ortom Places N10 Reward on Akwaza aka Gana

The Benue State Government has announced a N10 million reward for anyone who volunteers information leading to the arrest of wanted criminal, Terwase Akwaza also known as Gana.

Governor Samuel Ortom made this known at the burial of Mama Kwaghnzuul Naikyo Degarr who was also the mother-in-law to Secretary to the State Government, Professor Anthony Ijohor at Tse-Degarr in Mbajir, Shitile, Katsina-Ala local Government Area.

Governor Ortom explained that the upward review of the reward from the earlier N5 million to N10 million would be formalized at the next State Security Council meeting.

He restated the resolve of his administration to expose criminals and advised the people against shielding hoodlums in their midst.

The Governor said those with useful security information should contact relevant authorities and gave assurance that such informants would be protected.

While this is a good development as it will fast track the process, there has been mixed feelings from people across the state from the time the governor mention the additional N5m to the earlier announced N5m. Many of such comments regarding this are; that the governor should first pay worker's salaries as that should take priority in Ortom's government. That the Federal government have promised that of the Governor would consent to settle worker's salaries, they would come to our aid rapidly.

All the same, security of lives cannot be overemphasized. Let's all join hands to out an end to all sorts of criminal activities in the state.

We also pray that, God will help the governor to prioritise the overall happiness of Benue workers.
