Benue LG Poll: Iwodi, Sunday and Akor Demand For Report

By Morgan Adikwu

Sequel to the just concluded screening exercise conducted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the local government poll, slated for 3rd June 2017, in which some aspirants are alleged to have been disqualified from the process, especially in Ogbadibo the home LG of Comrade Abba Yaro, the Party State Chairman, Iwodi Friday Adogo and others in letters signed, have demand for the screening report.

In the letters addressed to the State Party (APC) Chairman and the Screening Committee, that partly read thus;
"We the above named contestants for the Chairmanship election in Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State do hereby demand for the immediate issuance of the Chairmanship Screening Committee".

They further state that, "many days after the said exercise, we have not yet been issued with the Report of the said screening therefore leaving us in darkness. Whereas other contestants such as MR AKOLA SIMON JAMES have since been issued with their results and are already on the field campaigning and canvassing for votes, we cannot do the same as we do not know our fate yet. Equally we cannot appeal against a decision that we do not know even though the screening Appeal Committee is now sitting".

They however, concluded, "we will not hesitate to take further steps, including but not limited to, court litigation if our grievances are not addressed. We hope this will not be necessary".
