Benue Lawmaker Reportedly Made To Kneel Down And Apologise To Governor Ortom

The Nigerian politics has gone beyond the ordinary explanation of democracy where people say what they see. When people are reprimanded for what they say based on what they see, that means there is shift from normalcy to distortion and violation of human rights.

If the reported punishment of Hon. James Gbande by his excellency, governor Ortom for allegedly been accused of not doing enough to end the incessant killings and attacks on the Benue people was true, then democracy like I said is fast declining in the state under the watch of the All Progressives Congress as the ruling party in the state.

Grammatically, the word "enough" does not mean the governor hasn't or is not doing anything at all, it means from what he has done so far, it's not enough to measure to the peak whereby the attacks would be drastically reduced or ended.

A state would develop if ideas are welcomed by the leaders. I believe Hon Gbande if he didn't mention that out of hate, has measures that the state government can use to end the killings and restore peace to the land.

Generally, the governor has put in a lot to see to the end of the crisis in the state, but, more can still be done.
