Students of the striking institution in Benue state have continue to wail as the strike seems not to end as the lecturers have remained adamant despite pleas from the government that they should return to classes while negotiations are ongoing.
One would continue to wonder why these two parties cannot come to a compromise considering the interests of the students first.
A lecturer from the institution who asked to remain anonymous has told BenueReporters that until government is able to come to their (ASUU) terms, they are not coming back.
He said, "we have so many issues that need to be tackled. The ball is in the court of the government to play, we have waited for too long. Though many people will see us as being selfish, but we have tried enough. Let the government do the needful and we will return."
In one of our earliest reports, we advised all students to exercise patience and predicted "after June 3rd local government elections". Those who can learn a fast trade should do so as it is an opportunity to broaden your horizon.
We are putting all hands on deck to keep you informed. As soon as we learn of other developments, we shall let you know immediately. We therefore advised that you subscribe to our news updates with your email address. Ensure to share to all your friends. Sign up below.
