Police Issues Warrant Of Arrest Against Sahara Reporters Publisher

Following a petition sent to the Inspector General of Police by Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West, the Abuja command of the Nigerian Police has issued a warrant of arrest against Sahara
Reporters owner Omoyele Sowore.

Senator Melaye has complained that the false publication by SR has caused him a severe public embarrassment.

He also complained of threat to his life as a result of Sowore’s cyber stalking which is punishable under the Nigerian law.

Despite attempts by the senate and Vice Chancellor of ABU to convince Sowore that Dino graduated from ABU in 2000, Sowore still went ahead to further his malicious post on Facebook, disparaging the Vice Chancellor and the institution.

Reports say that there are other petitions written against Sowore in line with his stock in propaganda trade which the police has not made public. It should be recalled that Sowore is still having a pending case bothering on false accusation, blackmail and cyber bullying against one Mr Lekan which led to Sowore's detention at the Panti in Lagos.

People have reacted to this, someone said,

"Flaming is a cybercrime. He just added defamation and character assassination... The police should also put in disturbing the peace. The NASS should add wasting the time of the NASS cum public resources expended on this useless probe... And alternatives forgone... Like not being able to work on the national budget for 2017."  Nairaland user.
